Description
Fluororubber (FKM) is a synthetic polymer elastomer containing fluorine atoms on the carbon atoms of the main chain or side chain. Fluorine atoms have strong negative electronegativity, and their strong electron-withdrawing ability can make the C-C bond energy on the polymer molecular chain larger and the main valence bond more stable; at the same time, because the volume of fluorine atoms is slightly larger than that of hydrogen atoms, they can form a shielding effect on the molecular chain and protect it from erosion by external corrosive media. These structural characteristics make it have excellent properties that other rubbers cannot match, such as high temperature resistance, oil resistance, chemical resistance, good physical and mechanical properties and weather resistance, electrical insulation and radiation resistance, etc. It is mainly used to make high temperature resistant, oil resistant, and medium resistant rubber products, such as various seals, diaphragms, hoses, tapes, etc. It can also be used as wire sheaths and anti-corrosion linings, and has been widely used in aviation, automobiles, petrochemicals and other fields.
